Building the Environmental Community on Campus

Across campus, hundreds of students are working on environmental issues of all sorts. We have divestment activists, plant-based lifestyle advocates, environmental educators,  and so many more that we can't even scratch the surface.

That's why YSEC works hard to be the medium which brings all these amazing students together. Here's how we do it:

  1. We host bi-weekly open YSEC meetings with all our coalition group representatives, so that all the coalition groups (and anyone else who comes!) can get updates on what other environmental organizations are doing on campus. This fosters cooperation, facilitates project collaboration, and prevents any overlap of ideas or projects.

  2. We host regular campus events to bring together all and any student interested in sustainability! Check out our social calendar below - we hope to see you at one of them!

Climate Action Pledge

In honor of Climate Action Month in November 2019, the Yale College Council, the Yale Student Environmental Coalition (YSEC), and the Office of Sustainability released a pledge to encourage students to live more eco-friendly lifestyles.

Our wish on 11/11 is for Yalies to take on a more active role in the fight against climate change. The pledge is designed to help students adopt habits that will reduce the environmental impact of their day-to-day lives.
